COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company orchestrated the initiative as a rallying call for inclusivity and responsibility in environmental action. The event was held in the Icherisheher (Old City), an area renowned for its ancient history and natural beauty, in collaboration with the Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve.

As part of the campaign, COP29 volunteers joined efforts to construct functional bird nests by recycling previously collected waste materials. The volunteers sparked public interest with their hands-on activities and showcased the process of crafting bird nests of varying sizes and types from diverse waste materials. They also shared intriguing facts about the advantages of waste reduction through recycling. The bird nests were subsequently installed in the park area, catering to the food and water requirements of birds and small animals.

Owing its implementation to the combined theoretical knowledge and practical activities of COP29 volunteers, the initiative aims to underscore the link between waste management, a significant climate issue, and the preservation of the environment, flora, and fauna. The goal is to draw public attention to the adoption of environmentally sustainable habits, such as responsible waste management in daily life, and once again highlight the irreplaceable role of collective efforts.
